NEW RELEASE
I SAIL TO THEE
I Sail to Thee is an album of longing; offering songs and stories that sail through time, revealing and shaping the lost narratives of our shorelines. With a resonant voice and steady guitar, Curry shares haunting tales such as The Pirate Ned Jordan, a sympathetic portrait of Irish rebel Edward Jordan, who turned to piracy in order to provide for his family; and Lizzy Dies Tonight, a first-person account of the sinking of the SS Hungarian off Cape Sable, NS where countless lives were lost. Strangely, a mysterious card inscribed with the title of this song was found among the wreckage.
Curry also pays homage to the tradition of Celtic story telling in Half Way to Calais and Of Which Mortals Only Dream, the album's atmospheric closing track.
In contrast to the darkness, hopeful songs like It’s Time I Let Her Know and Will You Walk with Me shine bright, leaving the listener with a warm glow.
I Sail to Thee moves through time like rolling waves, each song a story that will stay with you long after the music stops.
THE PIRATE NED JORDAN
"I saved all my wishes for thee.
I don't mind tempting the Fates
but will always regret I could not pay our debts.
I'm the Pirate Ned Jordan."
OF WHICH MORTALS ONLY DREAM
"Just keep me in your heart so strong and you'll feel my touch and hear my song on the rolling of the sea..."
